SRINAGAR, July 7: Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar announced 264 promotions in Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police. The promotions include seven Head Constables as Assistant Sub-Inspectors and 257 Selection Grade Constables as Head Constables.
The DGP has said that the promotions were cleared by Departmental Promotion Committee in its meeting held at Armed Police Headquarters. The meeting chaired by the DGP, was attended by other committee members including DIG AP, Kashmir, T Namgiyal and Superintendents of Police, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Farooq Ahmed Kirmani, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Ghulm Rasool Dar and Bashir Ahmed Sofi. The Committee also cleared seven personnel for In-situ promotion.
Mr Rajendra disclosed that after scrutinizing all connected records, the personnel were found eligible for promotion. He said that it has remained among the priorities in the department to create promotion avenues for all ranks and the vacancies are filled within shortest possible time. He stressed upon the officers to update all records of personnel so that the promotions are made within the time.
