26 kanals of forest land retrieved in Bhalwal

JAMMU, June 12: A team of Jammu Forest Division, led by Vijay Khosla, Range Officer Jammu and other Forest field staff removed encroachment on 26 Kanals of Forest land falling in Compartment No 3/M of village Gaink in Bhalwal area.
The team during operation also sealed two tin sheds in an anti-encroachment drive in the presence of Police team led by SHO Manoj Kumar, Rishi Kumar SI, Surinder Kumar ASI and Duty Magistrate Mohd Mukhtiyar Zargar, Naib Tehsildar, Agore.
On the request of Forest Department, Anshul Garg- Deputy Commissioner Jammu and Chandan Kohli, SSP Jammu deployed Police personnel and Dy Magistrate to tackle law and order situation. Despite resistance the situation was handled with the assistance of Police and two illegal structure constructed on Forest land were also sealed and 26 Kanal of Forest land was retrieved from one Ram Lal, son of Ganga. Further, the Forest area was also secured by fencing.
The senior officers including Dr Mohit Gera PCCF and CF East Circle Samuel Changkija appreciated the efforts of the officials and directed to take all the measures to prevent encroachment on Forest land.
