RAJOURI, Apr 3: Acting tough against the encroachers of forest land, Forest Department today took out an anti-encroachment drive and completely demolished two dharas constructed illegally in Kandi Range in Comptt. No 208/R (village Bindi) of Rajouri Forest Division.
The drive was conducted by DFO Rajouri, Ram Rattan Sharma and Range Officer, Kandi assisted by the other field staff and police team under the overall supervision of Sameer Bharti Gupta (IFS), Conservator of Forests, West Circle, Rajouri.
Besides demolition of illegal dharas, the team retrieved an area of 25 kanals from encroachers.
The Conservator of Forests directed for immediate fencing of the retrieved area besides directing the field staff to continue such demolition drives on forest land where ever noticed so that maximum encroached area is retrieved back to the Forest Department.
