JAMMU, Apr 23: Akhnoor and Jhajjar Kotli police rescued 23 bovine animals and arrested two persons.
As per police sources, a team from Akhnoor police station arrested two persons along with five bovine animals during checking at Mallein.
The accused have been identified as Rasheed, son of Roshan of Balle-de-Bagh and Tilak Raj, son of Shonka Ram of Jadh.
Meanwhile, a truck carrying bovine animals hit a parapet and turned turtle. Police team reached the spot and rescued 18 bovine animals from the vehicle, but the driver managed to escape from the spot.
Cases have been registered at Akhnoor and Jhajjar Kotli police station and investigation started.
