22 bovines rescued, five vehicles involved in smuggling seized

JAMMU, Jan 27: Jammu Police rescued 22 bovine animals by foiling two bovine smuggling bids at different locations and seized five vehicles involved in smuggling of the bovines.
“A joint team of Police Station Nagrota and Police Station Jhajjar Kotli constituted under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Sultan Mirza while on naka duty at Nandini naka rounded up a vehicle,” a police spokesman said.
He said during search of the vehicle, 8 bovine animals were found loaded in it and they were rescued. “In this regard, a case under FIR Number 08/2023 U/S 188 IPC 11 PCA Act respectively was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and the vehicle involved in transportation of bovines seized.
“Similarly, at another naka laid by a team of Police Post Sainik at Chowadhi area, 4 vehicles carrying 14 bovine animals were rounded up,” the spokesman said, adding, all the vehicles were seized and all the bovine animals were rescued.
He said in this regard, a case under FIR Number 12 /2023 U/S 188/IPC and 11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat Jammu further investigation started.
