21 bovines rescued, one smuggler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Nov 14: Police foiled two bovine smuggling bids under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta and Police Station Udhampur wherein 21 bovine animals were rescued.
Police party of Police Station Majalta, headed by SHO Sohan Singh Bandral under the supervision Dr Bhishm Dubey, SDPO Ramnagar, intercepted a Truck bearing Registration Number JK02AQ-3187 at Manwal. On physical checking, police team found 17 bovine animals loaded in the said vehicle without any valid permission.
Even as driver of the truck fled away from the spot by taking advantage of heavy traffic on the road, Police seized the vehicle and rescued all the 17 bovines.
In this connection FIR Number 85/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Majalta.
In another case, police party of Police Station Udhampur, headed by SHO Raghubir Singh, under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan, DySP Hqrs Udhampur, foiled one bovine smuggling attempt in Jakhani area on NHW.
One smuggler namely Pardeep Kumar, son of Madan Lal of RS Pura, Jammu was smuggling four bovines in a vehicle bearing Registration Number JK02CX-5691. Accused got arrested and bovines were rescued while the vehicle was seized.
In this regard, case FIR Number 477/2022, under Section 188 IPC, 11PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
