21 bovines rescued, 2 held

RAMBAN, Sept 26: Police rescued 21 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers from Ramban-Gool Link Road, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramban Police Station.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Ramban Police Station led by SSP Ramban Javed Iqbal Matoo and SHO Dharminder Singh Katoch intercepted two Tata Mahindra vehicles bearing registration number JK19-2254 and JKO2AC01037 on Ramban-Gool Link Road.
During checking, police team rescued 21 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers, while their four associates managed to escape.
The arrested smugglers have been identified as Abdul Hamid, son of Ilam Din and Mohammad Ashraf, son of Abdul Rashid, both resident of Kanga, district Ramban.
A case under FIR number 132/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started.
