200th Jayanti of Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji celebrated

JAMMU, Feb 11: Arya Samaj Kotli Colony Rehari here today celebrated 200th Jayanti of Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji, founder of Arya Samaj, and the programme started with Hawan in the morning.
After this a big gathering watched the main programme in this regard live from Indira Gandhi Stadium New Delhi where Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was chief guest.
PM Modi named the auspicious day as Gyan Jyoti Parv and said that India has progressed a lot by following teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji.
It is pertinent to mention here that Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji was born in 1824 in Gujarat and is being remembered as a great reformer and scholar of Vedic literature.
Jagdish Gupta, president of Arya Samaj Rehari Colony informed that the day also marked 150th foundation day of Arya Samaj as this organization was founded in 1875 by Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji.
A Langar was served to all who attended the programme.
