REASI, Mar 2: Continuing anti encroachment drive against forest land grabbers, a team constituted by DFO Reasi Anil Kumar today freed about 200 kanals of forest land from the clutches of miscreants in compartment 12/j/k of Katra forest range, near village Kanjali.
The team headed by Range officer Katra Kushal Singh with the help of Reasi Police and Revenue authorities meticulously swung into action in well equipped manner and immediately took possession over evicted forest chunk by way of fencing using Sq PCC posts and barbed wire.
Pertinent to mention that a crucial forest chunk in mentioned area of Katra forest range reportedly remained under illicit possession of some persons residing in close proximity with nefarious designs who clandestinely covered the same by delineating it with some dead brushwood over periphery of ill-intended piece of forest land with a view to grab it later on.
