20 injured in clashes

SRINAGAR, Nov 30: At least 20 persons were injured in clashes between workers of various political parties and around one dozen vehicles were damaged in North Kashmir this evening.
Reports said that clashes broke out at several places in North Kashmir where campaigning ended in five constituencies of Kupwara, Handwara, Langagte, Lolab and Karnah.
In Magam area People’s Conference workers who were returning from a rally clashed with National Conference workers in which around nine persons were injured. The workers of two parties pelted stones at each other.
In Mandigam area of the district workers of NC and Awami Itihad Party clashed in which around six persons were injured. The workers of the two parties were returning from election rallies.
The workers of PC and AIP also clashes at Nowgam in Kupwara district in which at least seven persons were injured.
Some of the injured were identified as Ghulam Nabi Gania, Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Ghulam Mohidin Wani, Fayaz Ahmad, Abdul Hamid Gojar, Tariq Hajam, Abbas Jamal Dar and Danish have been admitted to district hospital Handwara. Two of the injured are minors. Around two dozen vehicles were damaged in these clashes.
