20 bovines rescued, 4 vehicles seized

JAMMU, Sept 29: Jammu police today foiled three bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 20 bovines and seizing four vehicles involved in the smuggling.
“A naka was laid near Khanpur Nagrota by police teams of police station Nagrota where police teams rescued 16 bovine animals from three different vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19-7824, JK02CN-0704 and JK02BR-4686, which were seized,” police sources said.
Similarly in another naka led by police teams of police post Belicharana near Bashir Gujjar Basti (Belicharana), 4 bovine animals were rescued and a vehicle bearing registration number JK02F-2717 used in smuggling of the bovines was seized.
In this regard, three different cases vide FIR Number 391/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 392/2021 U/S 188/IPC and 393/2021 U/S 188/IPC were registered at police station Nagrota and cognizance taken by police post Belicharana.
Three bovine smugglers were also arrested. They were identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed Khatana son of Sadiq Ali of Suketar Nandani (Tehsil Dansal), Shab Din son of Nazam Din of Gangyal Bablian (Jammu) and Mohd Mushtaq son of Mohd Mirza of Miran Sahib (Muralia, Jammu).
The arrests and recoveries were made by SHO police station Nagrota Inspector Mohd Showkat and Incharge police post Beli Charana ASI Sanjeet Singh. Further investigation of the cases is going on.
