20 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Dec 10: Police today foiled two attempts of cattle smuggling and rescued 20 bovine animals besides arresting the accused smugglers.
During surprise naka laid by SI Jaswinder Chowdhry, I/c PP Tikri, under the supervision of SHO Rehambal Insp Virender Gupta, one truck JK02AG 8031 and one Mahendra vehicle JK21A -9113 were intercepted. During checking 15 bovine animals were found loaded in the truck and five other in the Mahendra vehicle.
The truck driver, identified as Mohd Rasheed son of Aladdin of Jhidi Jammu and driver of the Mahendra vehicle, namely Nazakat Ali son of Khalid Ahmed Khan of Larnu Kokernag, were arrested on the spot. Police rescued the bovine animals and also seized both the vehicles.
Case FIR number 110/19 and 111/19, under section 188/279 IPC, 3 PCA Act were registered in this connection at PS Rehambal.
