2 women among 3 mauled by bear

UDHAMPUR, May 20:   Two women and a youth were mauled by a wild bear at village Chapad in Latti tehsil, here today.
The incident took place around 2.30 pm in the day light when the trio was working in their maize farms at village Sand Badiyal, about 15 kms from Latti.  The bear suddenly appeared from the nearby forest area and attacked the victims leaving them seriously injured.
Some locals shifted the injured persons to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Latti, where doctors referred them to CHC Chenani for advanced treatment.
The injured were identified as Roma Devi (29), wife of Kewal Kumar, Bazira Begam (35), wife of Karam Din and Riyaz Ahmed (22), son of Salamat Ullah, all resident of Sand Badiyal, tehsil Latti.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident,  decomposed body of a missing woman was found  under mysterious circumstances at village Kotli Bala in forest area of Udhampur.
The deceased has been identified as 40 year old Sushma Devi,  wife of Shiv Kumar,  resident  of village Anshu in Kotriwala. The body was spotted by some locals who informed the Police.
The deceased was missing from her house for the last four day. Udhampur Police has registered the case under Section 174 RPC and started further investigation.
