JAMMU, Jan 1: Police arrested two vehicle lifters and recovered 8 stolen vehicles from their possession.
As per police sources, on December 18 last year, a complaint was lodged at Police Post Sarwal by a person namely Beer Das stating that his motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AP-4644 has been stolen from Rajpura.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 202/2020 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Manjeet Singh and assisted by Incharge Police Post Sarwal SI Ashish Sagar rounded up several suspects and finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Rohit Sharma, son of Om Parkash.
During sustained questioning, the suspect confessed his involvement in the said case and also revealed name of other person involved namely Mohammad Shoaib, son of Mohammad Faheem who was also arrested.
On their disclosure, police recovered 8 stolen vehicles.
Further investigation is going on to ascertain their involvement in any other cases.
