2 vehicle lifters arrested

JAMMU, Jan 1: Gujjar Nagar police under ‘Operation Meghdoot’ arrested two vehicle lifters and recovered stolen motorcycle from their possession.
As per police sources, on December 28 2017, a complaint was lodged by Rahat Parvez, son of Tariq Parvez of Udharana, Bhaderwah, presently putting up in Bathindi with Police Post Gujjar Nagar stating that some unknown persons have stolen his motorcycle which he had parked near Roze Building, Gujjar Nagar.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 88/17 under relevant sections was registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation started.
During the course of investigation several suspects were rounded up and out of them, two suspects broke down and confessed that they had committed the theft.
Police arrested the thieves, who have been identified as Shakeel Ahmed, son of Muneer Hussain and Shahid Mehmood, son of Tasaduq Hussain, both residents of district Rajouri. On their disclosure, police recovered the stolen motorcycle.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Gujjar Nagar Police Post SI Shariq Mohd made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Peer Mitha Inspector Javid Akhter, SDPO City Davinder Singh and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
