2 stolen cars, Scorpio, 3 bikes, electronic goods seized; 6 held

RAJOURI, Mar 28: With the arrest of six youth, Rajouri police has busted a gang of vehicle/ bike lifters and recovered three vehicles including a Scorpio, music system, computers, batteries and other electronic goods.
Receiving several complaints of the thefts, SP Rajouri, Mubassar Latiffi constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by DySP Headquarters Hamid Choudhary, assisted by SHO Rajouri Yashpal Singh. The team assisted by SI Mohd Sharief and others  conducted raids at different places and nabbed six members of the gang. One of them belonged to a good family and is son of an engineer.  All of them belonged to Rajouri town and are said to be in the age group of  20-23.
The SP identified the accused persons as- Saddam Hussain, son of Bashir Hussain, Hassan, son of Javed Iqbal, Irfan Ahmed, son of  Zakir Hussain, Raja Akhtar Mirza, son of Mubeer Rehman, Ajaz Ali, son of Mohd Rafiq and Yasir Khan, son of Farooq Khan, all residents of Rajouri town.
A stolen Scorpio vehicle was recovered from them. They used to travel in the vehicle for any operation. They were also operating in parts of Jammu and Nowshera. The police also recovered a laptop,  three bikes, a digital camera, a computer, a printer, computer battery, stolen tyres of  scorpio vehicles  with  rims, two music system of cars, alloy wheels and some more electronic goods.
Four FIRs had been registered against them in different cases.   Two boys were nabbed from Jammu area. They had also sold some of the stolen items. The police was investigating the matter and some more recovery is expected in near future. The DIG Rajouri-Poonch A K Attri and SP Rajouri Mr Latiffi lauded the efforts of SIT members to bust this gang and effect recovery.
