RAMBAN, June 1: Three persons including two sisters were killed, when the car they were traveling in collided with a truck near Nashri area, here this morning.
As per police sources, a Wagon-R car bearing registration number JK03B-9666 on its way from Jammu to Srinagar collided with a truck bearing registration number PB06K-2489 near Nashri area, resulting into on the spot death of two sisters and critical injuries to the driver of the car.
After getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the critically injured to Batote Hospital, where he also failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries. The bodies of the deceased sisters were also shifted to Batote Hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Mahender Kaur, wife of Deeraj Singh and Pushpinder Kaur, wife of Rattan Singh, both residents of Digiana, Jammu and retd AGM of SBI Sukhvinder Singh, son of Hukum Singh of Anantnag.
After completing legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to family members for last rites.
A case in this regard has been registered at Batote police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, two persons also got injured, when the Alto car (JK14C-9769), they were traveling in collided head-on with a load carrier near Nashri, here today.
The injured identified as Reyaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Mohammad and Fayaz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Hussain, both residents of Chenani were shifted to Batote Hospital, where their condition was stated to be out of danger, when reports last came in.
A case in this regard also stands registered at police station Batote and investigation started.
