2 seriously injured in bear attack

JAMMU, Nov 9: Two persons including an elderly lady and a young boy at Malhar area of Billawar got serious injuries when a wild bear attacked them.
According to a police spokesperson, the woman identified as Shakeena (62) wife of Mohd Ramzan of Malhar area of Billawar was attacked by a bear when she was going to collect fuel wood from the nearby jungle.
Hearing the cries of woman, a youth identified as Hinayat (24) son of Abdul Rehman went to help the woman but he also received serious injuries. Later, the villagers came to rescue of both the victims and shifted them to nearby hospital.
However, in view of their critical condition, they were later shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
