2 porters injured in attack by bear

POONCH, Oct 10: A full grown bear attacked two Army porters, causing them serious injuries in forest area of Sawjian near the Line of Control in Mandi tehsil of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that two porters deployed with the Army in Sawjian area were ambushed by a full grown bear near Dhanna hamlet during morning hours. They were carrying head loads to a forward location when came under attack.
The injured were later rescued by the locals ad some jawans and then shifted to nearby unit hospital and taken to District Hospital, Poonch. The victims were identified as Mohd Salim, son of Mohd Joo and Mushtaq, son of Ali Mohd, residents of Sawjian.
