SRINAGAR: Two policemen were injured in a militant attack in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Saturday evening, official sources said here.
They said that militants fired at a police party near Rajpora Police station in Pulwama this evening.
The security forces retaliated ensuing in a brief exchange of fire in which two policemen were injured. The injured were immediately taken to a hospital, where their health condition is stated to be stable.
They said that the militants managed to escape, adding additional security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
The attack comes just few hours after militants lobbed a grenade at a camp of Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police in south Kashmir district of Shopian. But, no one was injured in that attack. (AGENCIES)
