2 peddlers nabbed with poppy, charas

SRINAGAR, Apr 27: Police today arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered poppy straw and charas from their possession.
Authorities said that a police party from Police Station Qazigund, during patrolling at Gulabbugh near Khatana Petrol Pump, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a nylon bag.
During the search, police officers recovered 4.3 kgs of poppy straw substance from the bag in his possession.
“He has been identified as Balwinder Kumar, son of Mewa Ram, a resident of Ratharwan, Pathankot,” police said.
Moreover, authorities mentioned that a police party from Police Station Qaimoh, at a checkpoint established at Naibasti Qaimoh, intercepted a suspicious person who attempted to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
During the search police recovered 2 kgs of charas filled in the nylon bag.
The accused has been identified as Gulzar Ahmad Allaie, son of Abdul Khaliq Allaie, a resident of Chinigam Chanpora, Frisal.
“Both the accused drug peddlers have been arrested and shifted to their respective police stations.
