SAMBA, Oct 13 : Bari Brahmana police has arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered 40 grams heroin (chitta) from their possession today.
Acting on reliable information, a police party of Police Station, Bari Brahmana headed by SHO, Inspector. Rajesh Jasrotia under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Sunil Kesar during vehicle checking Naka at Balole Bridge, Bari Brahmana intercepted a Santro car bearing Registration Number, JK02V-9761 which was coming from Kathua side. During frisking of both the persons sitting in the car, a total of 40 grams of heroin (chitta) was recovered from their possession in which 25 grams heroin was recovered from the drug peddler identified as Ashwani Kumar, S/o Mewa Ram of Bahu Fort, Jammu and 15 grams heroin was recovered from another drug peddler namely Suresh Kumar, S/o Karnail Chand R/o Rambagh Phallain Mandal, Jammu. Both the drug peddlers have been arrested by the police on the spot. The car and the contraband item recovered from the accused persons were also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 165/2019 U/S 8/21/22/25/27(a)/29 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
Samba police ahs termed it a big achievement in its drive against the drug menace.
