2 narco-smugglers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Feb 23: Nagrota police arrested two narcotics smugglers along with 50 grams of heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shokat under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted Indica car bearing registration number JK02AC-8238.
During checking, police team recovered heroin, Rs 24,000 cash and one electronic weighing machine from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Farooq Ahmed Ganai, son of Bashir Ahmed Ganai of Nagola, Jindrah.
During questioning, the arrested driver disclosed the name of his associate, who was also arrested.
The associate of the driver, who was arrested, has been identified as Amrik Singh, a resident of Digwar, District Poonch.
Total recovery of heroin from the possession of the driver and his associate was approximately 50 grams.
A case under FIR Number 85/2020 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
