KATHUA, Feb 28: Two person were killed in two separate road mishaps in Kathua district today.
According to police, a motor cyclist who was identified as Rahul Sharma, son of Tara Chand of Dugarnda Kishanpur was killed after he was hit by a matador bearing No JK02D A253 at Mandli near Kishanpur.
The Matador was on its way form Mandali to Kishanpur. The motor cyclist was taken to Billawar Hospital for treatment where seeing his condition critical the doctors referred him to GMC Jammu. But before reaching GMC, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The matador driver fled from the spot and was absconding. Billawar police has registered a case in this regard under relevant section of the law.
In another incident, a motorcyclist was hit by a horse cart at Khakyal near Nagri Parole near, here. The motor cyclist received serious injury in his chest after one of the bamboo rods of the cart pierced in his chest.
He was identified as Dr Anurag Wazir, son of R S Wazir of Kathua. He was shifted to District Hospital Kathua where he succumbed to his injury later.
His body was handed over to his parents for cremation after postmortem.
The Kathua Police has registered a case.
