SRINAGAR, June 11: Two men were booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Central Kashmir district of Budgam for making an attempt to set ablase a Shia shrine last month.
Two men – Saqib Bhat, 23, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat and Bilal Ahmad Bhat, 25 son of Ghulam Mohammad of Zaber Mohalla, Budgam – were arrested by police on May 31 last month after they made an attempt to set the shrine of Agha Syed Mehdi Al Safvi Al Mousvi ablaze during the intervening night of May 29 and 30.
Police had filed a case (FIR number 140/2015, u/s 436, 427, 295 RPC) in this regard.
The youth were booked under PSA (DM no. 3-4 dated 09-06-2015) for attempting to set ablase the shrine. The duo were shifted to Kotbilwal Jail in Jammu region.
