2 medical shops sealed for selling intoxicants, drug peddler arrested

JAMMU, Oct 7: Jhajjar Kotli police got sealed two medical shops for selling intoxicant tablets and capsules viz arrested a drug peddler also.
As per police sources, on September 17 this year, a police team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station arrested six drug peddlers including two medicos along with poppy straw, intoxicant capsules and tablets.
A case under FIR Number 118/19 under Section 8/15/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act stands registered against these six arrested persons including both pharmacists with Police Station Jhajjar Kotli.
The two medicos arrested were identified as Bikramjeet Singh, son of Jaswant Singh of Tehsil Bhaderwah at present Dansal, owner of Bikram Medicos Dansal and Ramesh Singh alias Rajat, son of Pawan Singh of Paloura, District Jammu, owner of Rajat Pharmaceuticals Karan Nagar.
SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma took up the matter of selling intoxicants by these two pharmacists with Drug and Food Control Organization (D&FCO) Jammu, which ordered sealing of both the medical shops.
Acting tough against drug menace, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli sealed both the medical shops as their licences were cancelled by the D&FCO.
Meanwhile, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 100 grams cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Mansa, son of Rafiq Mohammad of Badsoo, Tehsil Dansal.
A case under FIR Number 130/19 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Rajesh Khajuria sealed the medical shops and arrested the drug peddler under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma.
