2 Kulas, 150 bundles of wheat destroyed in fire

SAMBA, Apr 28: Two Kulas were destroyed in fire that broke out due to short -circuits at two different places in Samba district today.
According to reports Kulla of Liyaqat Ali, son of Faqir Ali in village Mandera near here was razed to ground in a fire that was caused due to short circuit today. All the house hold goods including bedding and cash was destroyed in the fire. The total loss was estimated upto Rs 40,000. The fire was brought under control after the fire tenders from Samba rushed to the village. The family members of Ali however managed to escape.
In another fire incident Kulla of Thru Ram, son of Nanak Kumar of Samla Samba was also damaged in fire today. The cause of fire was reported short circuit. The total damage in the fire was estimated up to Rs 10,000.
Meanwhile, in Kathua district 150 bundles of wheat were destroyed in fire while thrashing of the crop on thrashers in three different villages today.
According to reports 150 bundles of wheat which was being thrashed on thrashers in villages of Barwal, Sarlogate and Kuke Chak in Kathua district were completely damaged in the fire that was caused due to short circuit. The thrashers also suffered the damage in the fire. The fire was brought under control after the fire tenders rushed to the villages from Kathua. The total damage in the fire was estimated to Rs 50,000.
