2 killed in separate road accidents

KATHUA, Sept 1: Two persons including a seven year old girl died in two road accidents in Kathua district today.
According to reports a seven year old girl Deepika Bhardwaj, daughter of Dwarika Lal resident of village Dhabwal near here was killed after she was hit by an unknown motor cycle in the village this evening. The motorcyclist fled after the accident.
The girl died instantly. She was staying in the house of one of her close relatives as her parents had gone for Mani Mahesh yatra and were not present in the village. The Nagri Parole Police Post has registered a case under relevant sections of the law in this regard and started the man hunt for motorcyclist.
In another accident a 28 year old youth identified as Ashwani Kumar, S/O Ram Chand of Hiranagar in district Kathua died after his Maruti 800 car bearing registration number JK08OB7755 hit a stationary truck near Food and Supplies Store Hiranagar this evening.
The car was totally damaged and the youth was brought out of the vehicle by the local people after hard efforts. He was immediately shifted to Hiranagar Hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The Hiranagar Police has registered a case under Section 279/304 RPC in this regard. The dead body has been kept in Hiranagar Hospital and it will be handed over to family after postmortem tomorrow.
