SAMBA, Oct 7: One pedestrian, one motorcyclist died in two separate road accidents in Samba today .
Police said this morning a motorcyclist was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Samba’s village Barian, injuring him seriously. With the help of local people and police, he was taken to Vijaypur Hospital in the injured condition where he was declared brought dead by the doctor. The deceased has been identified as Surat Singh (40), son Gopal Singh resident of Bajavati Ramgarh, who after postmortem at Ramgarh Hospital handed over the body to the relatives for the last rites. The police has registered a case and started further investigation.
The second case happened in village Diani on Jammu Pathankot National Highway, Samba where a pedestrian died while crossing the road. The accident took place when the person was crossing the road near Diani that suddenly an unknown speeding vehicle hit him and he was seriously injured. With the help of local people, the injured was brought to Samba Hospital where the doctor declared him as brought dead. The deceased has been identified as Mohan Lal (50) son of Dhanu Ram resident of Chhattisgarh, who used to work as a laborer in Samba, while the police have registered a case and started searching the unknown vehicle.
