MENDHAR, July 26: Two persons were killed while another seriously injured after a tipper skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Jarhan Wali Gali area of Surankote late this evening.
A Police spokesman said that the mishap took place at round 9.15 pm when the tipper No. JK-12/1962 was on way to Surankote from Mendhar. As it reached near Jarhan Wali Gali, the driver lost control and it landed into a deep gorge. It fell on a big rock and was broken in three pieces. The police party from Gursai led by SHO Farooq, rushed to the site and removed two dead bodies from the wreckage. One critically injured Zahid Ahmed, resident of Marha in Surankote was rushed to Surankot hospital. He was being referred to GMC hospital Jammu.
Those killed were identified as Mohd Sayed (35), son of Mohd Din, resident of Lah (Thanamandi) and Zakir Mehmood, son of Mohd Sagir, resident of Bafliaz. The bodies were also removed to mortuary of Surankote hospital.
