DODA, Aug 18: Two persons were killed when the tipper they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into Nathi nallah near Hambal area of Marmat, here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02BW-1816 was on its way to Marmat from Doda, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it fell into Nathi nallah near Hambal area of Marmat, resulting into on the spot death of driver and one another person traveling in the tipper.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of locals, retrieved the dead bodies from the gorge.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased identified as Mohan Singh, son of Karam Chand of Gaddi Bhagwa District Doda and Subash Kotwal, son of Badri Nath of Gatti Morh Bhaderwah were handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Doda Police Station and investigation started.
