2 killed, 9 injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Oct 15:  Two persons died and nine others were injured in two separate road accidents at Reasi and Udhampur today.
Reports said that one passenger was killed and six others, including two women and a minor, sustained injuries when a minibus skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge at Cheter, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Talwara of district Reasi.
The ill fated vehicle, bearing registration number 3172/JK14B, was on its way from Pouni to Reasi when the mishap occurred. Locals and Police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to District Hospital Reasi where one of the victims was declared as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Kanta Devi, wife of Krishan Singh of Talwara migrant camp.
The injured were identified as Om Parkash of Talwara, his wife Anita Devi, their four-year old son Deepu, Vimla Devi, wife of Ashwani of Talwara, Avinash (18), son of Sunil Kumar of Pouni and Kewal Sharma (48), son of Haridutt of Sujanpur.
Meanwhile, in a collision of three vehicles on the National Highway at Narsu in Udhampur, one person died and four others were injured.  The collision took place between an Alto car JK14B-8985, load carrier JK02AX-2729 and a Truck.
Driver of the load career, identified as Depu (25), son of Kasturi Lal of Shama Chak R S Pura Jammu, died in the collision.
The injured were identified as Ajaz Ahmed (32) son of Gulam Husan of Veri Nag Kashmir, Zahid (20) son of Ramzan of Veri Nag, Roshan Lal (32) son of Bhajen Lal of R S Pura Jammu and Ravinder Paul (47) son of Harbans Singh of Gadigrh Jammu.
