Srinagar, Feb 5: Two persons were killed while four others were injured after two vehicles had a collision on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Bijbehara in district Anantnag today.
Tavera car bearing registration number JK01N9983 and Santro car bearing registration number JK03D0141 collided near Simthan area of Bijbehara around afternoon.
The officials said that the injured were referred to a nearby hospital where doctors declared two among the injured as brought dead. They have been identified as Mohammad Syed Yatoo (48) son of Mohammad Yousuf Yatoo of Achidora and Mohammad Ayoub Wani (50) son of Mohammad Abdullah of Anchidora.
Those who were injured and are under treatment have been identified as Parveen (50) wife of Abdul Rashid Dar of Anchidora, Amina, wife of Mohammad Syed Yatoo (dead), Ghulam Hassan Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar (60) of Dagerpora and Mustafeem (24) son of Abdul Rashid Dar of Anchidora.
After the incident, the police have registered and investigations were taken up.
