2 killed, 4 hurt in scuffle

SRINAGAR, Apr 19: Two persons were killed and four others injured in Uri town of North Kashmir after a man fired from his licensed 12-bore rifle on a group of people during a scuffle over a land dispute with neighbours.
The accused Mushtaq Sheikh fired indiscriminately when a group of men went to his house to resolve a land dispute. Mushtaq rushed outside his house and fired indiscriminately from his rifle. The fire missed the group and hit six persons in which two persons died.
Police said Javaid Ahmad of Silikoot, Uri, died on the spot, Jahangir Ahmad of Trikanjan succumbed on way to hospital.
Those injured have been identified as Faisal Ahmad, Mohammad Afzal, Ilyas Ahmad and Ghulam Hassan Chalkoo. They are being treated in the Baramulla hospital and their condition is stated to be stable.
Police have registered an FIR under Section 302, 307 RPC and have started inquest proceedings into the incident.
They have rounded up 20 persons including the accused Sheikh.
