KISHTWAR, May 3: Two persons were killed, while one another got seriously injured, when the Scorpio taxi they were traveling in plunged into deep gorge near NHPC By-Pass Road here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK17-1103 belonging to Nazir Ahmed of Melan was on its way to Shalimar from Wasser Kond, when the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle landed into deep gorge near NHPC By-Pass Road here.
After getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the three occupants of the taxi to District Hospital Kishtwar, where doctors pronounced two of them as brought dead. The one injured was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Muzaffer, son of Javid Ahmed Ganie and Sajad Hussain, son of Gullah Ganie, both residents of Melan, Kishtwar.
The injured has been identified as Sahid Hussain, son of Mohammad Ramzan of Hasti, district Kishtwar.
A case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
