MENDHAR, July 12: Two Junior Engineers of R&B Department were among eight persons injured in a car accident in Dhar Galoon area of Mendhar in district Poonch during early hours today.
Reports said the mishap took place at around 4 am today when eight persons on board a Maruti car No. JK-12 /2844 were on way to Mendhar from Jammu. The driver lost control under the influence of sleep and the car hit against a tree on the road side at Dhar Galoon.
Hearing hue and cry of the injured, the people from a nearby house rushed there. Later, they informed Mendhar police. The injured were rushed to Sub-District Hospital Mendhar. The doctors referred two seriously injured persons, both Junior Engineers to GMC hospital, Jammu. They are identified as Wasim Ahmed, son of Nazir Hussain of Prat village and Mohd Sikander Chouhan (JE) resident of Parat in Mendhar. Yasmeen Akhtar, wife of Parvez Ahmed of Prat and Bhabi of Wasim was under going treatment. The children received minor injuries and some of them were discharged from hospital. The police registered a case in this connection.
