JAMMU, July 26: Security forces today averted a major tragedy by recovering two Improvised Explosive Devices and two hand grenades from a terrorist hideout in a remote belt of Poonch district.
SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral said that a terrorist hideout was busted on Sunday in Doriyaa Dhok of Loran Top belt by the joint teams of Gorkha Rifles and local police.
He said that two IEDs (5 kgs and 3 kgs) and two (HE 36) grenades were recovered from the hideout which were defused on the spot by the Bomb Disposal Squad of the Army.
The recovery also included some items of essential commodities, LPG cylinder and eatables, they added.
The area was cordoned while searches are in progress.
