2 held as theft cases worked out

JAMMU, Sept 9: Police here in Janipur area claimed today that they have worked out two theft cases and recovered as many individuals for their involvement in the crime.
A police spokesperson said that a complaint was lodged at Police Station Janipur by one Majeed Hussain son of Bagh Ali of Paloura, Jammu, stating therein that some unknown thieves decamped with goats from his house.
Acting on the written complaint, he said, a case FIR number 92/2023 under section 380 of the IPC was registered at the concerned police station and investigation started.
Investigating the matter, the police team led by SDPO West Vikram Singh assisted by SHO Janipur Inspector Sikandar Singh arrested one person identified as Bunty Sharma of Aghore Jammu and recovered the stolen animal from his possession, he said.
Another complaint was lodged by one Bilal Ashraf Shah of Gujjar Mohalla, Paloura, regarding theft of his Swift car by some unidentified thieves.
On receipt of the complaint, a case FIR number 89/2023 under section 379 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
During investigation, the same police team rounded up one suspect identified as Ghulam Nabi of Gool, District Ramban. On his further investigation, the accused confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen vehicle was recovered.
