JAMMU, Aug 14: In separate cases, two young girls allegedly committed suicide today by hanging themselves at their respective residences on outskirts of Jammu City.
“Priya (18) daughter of Babu Singh, resident of Dinanagar (Barnai) was found hanging by the family members from a fan at her home this afternoon,” said a police official. He said the family members took her in unconscious condition to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where she was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
He said, meanwhile, a 21-year-old girl namely Vaishali Devi daughter of Saudagar Lal, resident of Sohanjana (Phlian Mandal) allegedly ended her life by hanging self at her residence this afternoon. “The family members of the girl rushed her in unconscious condition to GMCH Jammu, where doctors pronounced her as brought dead,” the official said.
The official said that the dead bodies of both the deceased were send for postmortem while concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
