2 female bovine smugglers held

RAMNAGAR, Nov 18: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling in Ramnagar, Police rescued 10 bovines and arrested two female smugglers.
The accused were carrying these bovines from village Gundiyan of Kirmoo towards Kashmir Valley side on foot without any permission or any other documentation from concerned authorities.
The smuggling bid was foiled by a Police team of Police Station Ramnagar, led by SHO Pushpinder Singh, under the supervision of Addl SP Udhampur Anwar Ul Haq and SDPO Ramnagar, Dr Bhishm Dubey during naka checking at Nimbla, Kirmoo area of Ramnagar.
Police rescued all the animals and arrested both the accused women, who were identified as Salma Begum, wife of Mohd. Rafiq of Kaitha, Ramnagar and Shehnaz Akthar wife of Abdul Majeed of Dudu.
In this regards, case FIR number 147/2022, under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act, has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar and further investigation is underway.
