DODA, July 12: Two persons were feared drowned when a van, they were travelling in, plunged into deep gorge late this evening.
Reports said that a Maruti van bearing registration number JK06-7971, which was on its way from Changa to Malikpora in Gandoh area of the district, plunged into gorge due to the negligence of the driver.
On getting information about the accident, police as well as locals swung into action and started rescue operation. However, bodies of the occupants of the van could not be recovered due to darkness.
Locals, who were eye-witness to the accident, said that only two persons were travelling in the van. “We will launch operation to recover bodies tomorrow morning as the same had to be called off due to darkness”, a police official said.
