2 electrocuted to death, 4 injured in Kargil

SRINAGAR: Two people were killed and four others injured, when they came in contact with a live wire during a religious procession in the border town of Kargil in Ladakh region.

Official sources here this evening said that six people received electric shock when an Alam, Islamic banner, which they were holding, touched a live electric wire, during a procession in village Tambus in Kargil.

All six people received burn injuries, they said, adding they were taken to a hospital, where two of them, Ghulam Hyder and Mohammad Rahim, were declared bought dead. After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the bodies were handed over to their relatives for last rites. (AGENCIES)
