2 drug peddlers arrested with Rs 1.90 lakh worth heroin

JAMMU, Mar 7: Bishnah and Bus Stand police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested two drug peddlers and recovered heroin worth Rs 1.90 lakh from their possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Bus Stand Police Station apprehended a notorious drug peddler and recovered 15 grams heroin worth Rs 1.50 lakh from his possession.
The arrested person has been identified as Pervez Ahmad, son of Abdul Aziz of District Poonch.
A case under FIR Number 18/18 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bus Stand Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandiyal and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
Meanwhile, on specific information, a team from Bishnah Police Station laid a naka at Palli Morh and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 4 grams heroin worth Rs 40,000 from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Deepak, son of Yash Paul, a resident of Tanda, Tehsil RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 48/18 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Rajesh Sharma along with District Special Branch team made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary, SP Headquarters Jammu Romesh Kotwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
