JAMMU, July 1: Bakshi Nagar police under Operation Sanjeevani arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 48 grams heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Bakshi Nagar police station laid a naka and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02AU-9070.
During checking, police recovered 48 grams heroin from the possession of rider and pillion rider and arrested them.
The drug peddlers have been identified as Shubham Mahajan, son of Surinder Kumar of Shivaji Chowk Nanak Nagar and Ajay Sharma, son of Charan Dass Sharma of Maheshpura.
A case under FIR Number 90/17 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Bakshi Nagar police station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ashwani Sharma along with SI Krishan Lal Raina made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Pranav Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
