KATHUA, Aug 5: Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 20 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession at Janglote Morh, here.
A police spokesman said that, police party from Police Station Kathua during patrolling intercepted two persons moving suspiciously.
During checking, police recovered 20 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession and arrested both the drug peddlers, who have been identified as Aqab, son of Mohammad Yousuf and Ishfaq Ahmad, son of Ghulam Qadir, both residents of Tral, Awantipora, Srinagar.
A case under FIR number 295/13 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Kathua and investigation started.
