SRINAGAR, Feb 2: Two persons died, while two others were injured in road traffic accidents in the Valley.
A police spokesman said the driver of the load carrier (JK01L-6977) Nazir Ahmad Raja son of Ghulam Ahmad of HMT, Srinagar, was critically injured in a collision between his vehicle and a bus (JK02BA-1881) near Jawahar Tunnel in Banihal.
Raja was shifted to Sub District Hospital at Qazigund but he succumbed to his injuries there, the spokesman said.
In another accident, Farooq Ahmad Najar of Hayan Kangan, driving an Alto car, died when his vehicle turned upside down on Highway near Sumbal Power House power in Gund in Ganderbal.
The spokesman said two other persons Bashir Ahmad Ganie of Giraj, Ganderbal and Firdous Ahmad Ganie of Hayan, Kangan were injured. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
He said the police registered cases in these accidents.
