2-day workshop on capacity building concludes at CUJ

JAMMU, Mar 18: Two–day capacity building workshop on “Effective Managerial Skills for Registered Artisans of J&K”,  organized by the Department of HRM & OB, Central University of Jammu, concluded today.
The workshop, sponsored by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India under capacity building scheme, focused on enhancing various capacities of the artisans covering skills pertaining to their self development, development of their business skills and also how they can market their products and build business.
Various technical sessions were conducted during the two day long workshop. The main resource persons were: G P Singh, Circle Head, Handicrafts, T  Phunchowk, Assistant Director, Handicrafts, Pawan Raina, Marketing Centre, Jammu,  Surinder Pal, Handicr-afts Promotion Officer, Yash Pal Bhagat, Lead District Manager, SBI, Prof Indu Aima, Ex- Course Director, IMPA,  Kuldeep Bhat, Administrative Officer, LIC, H L Pandita, Sr  Branch Manager, LIC.
An exhibition of the products prepared by the artisans was also organized during the day.
Shabnam Kamli, Director Technical Education, who was chief guest during the valedictory session, said that career skills instilled through this workshop would enable these artisans to architect rewarding careers for themselves.
G P Singh, guest of honour on the occasion, highlighted the importance of reviving the dying crafts of the State and impressed upon the artisans to take maximum benefits from such workshops.
Jit Singh, Registrar CUJ, highlighted that University would provide such platforms that would nurture their talent apart from mutual harmony and understanding.
Earlier, Prof Lokesh Verma welcomed the guest and other dignitaries.
