JAMMU, Feb 19: A two-day “Orientation Training Progra-mme” for staff of Industries & Commerce Department began today at the conference Hall of Udhyog Bhawan, Jammu.
Anoo Malhotra, Director, Industries & Commerce, Jammu inaugurated the programme, which is being organized by District Industries Centre (DIC) Jammu with the aim to upgrade the skill of the staff of Industries & Commerce Department in time with the latest techniques and schemes being implemented by the I&C Department.
Subah Mehta, General Manager, DIC Jammu, while welcoming all the resource persons, stressed on the need for imparting knowledge about the procedures to be followed in implementing Industrial schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, Anoo Malhotra stressed on all DICs to conduct such programmes after frequent intervals for awareness among employees about the various schemes being implemented by the Government so that the benefits percolate to gross-root levels. She informed that Government has already acquired 6000 acres of land for the development service and manufacturing activity and encourage investment in the UT for creating employment opportunities.
She also informed that the “Udyog Samagam” is also proposed to be implemented through the DICs for which they need to equip themselves for the implementation of the schemes. She also asked the employees to gear themselves up as the new industrial policy is on anvil with the aim to bring the maximum investment in the State both in Manufacturing and Service Sectors.
The poster on the present schemes was also unveiled on the occasion for distribution amongst masses. Major focus of the training programme is to sensitize the staff about how to deal with cases pertaining to service sector being a new sector which has been kept at same pedestal as manufacturing sector.
The training workshop dwelt at length about various activities like Hotel, Eco-Tourism, Aerial Ropeways, Cold Storage, Logistic Parks etc., which form part of service sector and are eligible for equal support in the shape incentive from Government of India and Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the orientation programme, a detailed presentation was presented on Financial Management System in Industry by Chartered Accountant Dheeraj regarding analysing various components of DPRs.
The training programme was attended by Trishala Kumari, Joint Director, Ved Parkash Joint Director, Tabbasum, CAO and Manisha, DD [P&S] of Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Jammu. Among others, Babu Ram, GM DIC Kathua, Suram Chand, GM DIC Udhampur, Vishawjeet, GM DIC Ramban and Sansar Chand, GM DIC Samba along with their staff members also attended the programme.
