JAMMU, Oct 26: Two young daughters of Chief Judicial Magistrate Reasi, Syed Adnan, died in a fatal road accident near Chandigarh last night.
The deceased have been identified as Zava Adnan and her younger sister Aqsa Adnan, daughters of Syed Adnan, resident of Poonch and nieces of National Conference leader Ajaz Jan (former MLA Poonch).
According to the reports, Zava was travelling to Chandigarh to appear in the entrance test for MBBS in Bangladesh. Accompanied by her younger sister Aqsa Adnan and two other girls, she was travelling in a taxi (DL12D-1457), which met with accident on the highway, somewhere near Chandigarh.
Both the sisters died in the road mishap while two other girls, accompanying them, and driver of the taxi sustained serious injuries. Deceased Aqsa Adnan – younger daughter of CJM Reasi – was pursuing Law in Melbourne, Australia.
Reports said that the accident took place around 9.30 pm last evening when the over speeding truck hit the taxi from rear side, resulting into on the spot death of two sisters and serious injuries to others.
Bodies of both the sisters were handed over to the family members this morning after legal formalities. The dead bodies were brought to Poonch by the family members and the burial was held late this evening.
A large number of locals, besides family members and relatives of the bereaved family attended the burial. There was a pal of gloom in Poonch town over the tragic death of two young sisters. The family of CJM Syed Adnan actually belongs to Surankote’s Fazalabad area and presently settled in Poonch town.
Meanwhile, National Conference vice-president and former Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and others have expressed their grief over the tragic death of two daughters of Syed Adnan and nieces of Ajaz Jan. “May the young ladies find place in Jannat & may their families find strength at this difficult time,” tweeted Omar Abdullah.
