2 cops suspended, 1 transferred for dereliction of duties

SRINAGAR, June 17: Two policemen were suspended and third was transferred for dereliction of duties in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district today.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police north Kashmir range, Sujit Kumar said that he has suspended munshi and two sentries during his visit to Police Station Sopore.
An MCH (munshi) was transferred and two sentries were suspended for their negligence during duties.
“The DIG NKR took a review in the campus and briefed the officers on various issued. Later, he checked the developments with regard to investigation of various crimes and militancy related incidents in the district,” the official said, adding that after finding that a munshi and two sentries were found involved in “negligence during duty.”
“The DIG then directed the SP to transfer the Munshi (MHC) besides suspending two sentries on the grounds of carelessness and unprofessionalism during duty, with immediate effect.
“We won’t tolerate this unprincipled and negligence of police officers,” the DIG was quoted as having said during the review meeting.
The SHO of the Police Station was removed when a militant attack took place early this week.
